Nowadays, displaying onboarding screens to first-time users has become a common practice in mobile apps. The purpose of these onboarding screens — also referred to as walkthroughs — is to introduce the app and demonstrate what it does.
You don't need adobe illustrator to create vector illustrations for onboarding screens. You can create any flat design in complete free software FIGMA. Figma is free software for Web design and mobile apps design and prototyping but not only that you can also create flat illustrations, logo designs, icons, banner designs and other graphic designs also. I have designed few onboarding screens in figma. (Tour/ tutorial screens).
